Edward de Bono's Six Thinking Hats

We used the six thinking hats to discuss whether we thought it was right for children to fight for the Vikings at the age of ten.

After our discussions we wrote our names on post-it notes and placed them on a continuum where 1 was 'I agree' and 5 was' I disagree'. Here are our results:

We had some great ideas.  The person who agreed said that as children aged 10 in Viking times were regarded as adults, then it was OK for them to go and fight for their families so that they could find better farming lands.  Some people thought it would be exciting to go and fight and others thought it would be very frightening.  Some imagined themselves to be viking mothers and didn't want their children going away to fight.  We also went on to talk about how some children in Africa have to fight in wars today.
